Action Stations – ready to meet the local community

Over the weekend of 21-22 February, shipmates from Rhondda Branch set up a stall at the local Tesco store in Talbot Green.

Shipmates Paul Gower (Chairman), Graham Warner (Hon. Secretary), other members of the Branch — one being a serving CPO — and the Chairman’s daughter spent the weekend talking to people in the community, raising their awareness of the Branch and how they support serving members, and veterans, of the senior service.

Amongst those that the Branch members spoke with were a number of serving, and retired members, of the Royal Navy, hopefully these people have been encouraged sufficiently to become members of the Branch in due course.

Setting up a stall at a supermarket does not happen on its own, shipmates from Rhondda Branch would like to express their thanks to Paula, Tesco’s Community Champion, for her support during the planning of this event.
