Armed Forces Day: St Ives (Cambs) 2015
On Saturday 27th June 2015, Armed Forces Associations throughout the country went on parade for Armed Forces Day. Huntingdon & District RNA set up a stall in St Ives Town Centre (Cambridgeshire).

Shipmates Karl Webb, Pete Aston, and Graham Murray arrived bright and early in order to get our stall up and running – and grabbing a bacon butty before the event opened to the public.

With an RN Ensign and the Armed Forces Day flag flying high above the stall, it was easy to see that the RN were in town. Shipmates Pete Aston and Graham Murray posed for photographs before shipmate Karl Webb took the Branch Standard and went to the Town Hall for the flag raising ceremony.

Standard Bearers from the Royal Naval Association, Royal British Legion, and the Royal Air Force Association, represented the RN, Army and Air Force.

With the Town Mayor, veterans officials, and a bugler from RAF Wyton’s Voluntary Band, the ceremony got underway at 1200.

On completion of the opening ceremony, the day continued with members of the public visiting the veterans stalls.

The day went really well, although not as busy as in previous years, it was good to see the support from the community in joining our veterans celebrate Armed Forces Day.

Well done shipmates and all those that took part.
