Call for mourners, shipmate Chris Weaver’s funeral Friday 23rd February 2018
Over the last few years, shipmate Penny Jarvis has been working with an ex-RN ‘gentleman’ after finding him homeless. Penny was a Veteran Support Officer and had known Chris for some time now. Sadly, Chris died at the beginning of January, his funeral will take place at North Herts Crematorium, Holwell, Nr Hitchin (at 1000).
Penny said that Chris had no known family, so with the help of Stevenage Borough Council, she is helping with arranging the funeral. Penny is hoping to get a few mourners, including a few Standards if possible, together to give our shipmate a send off that he deserves. After the cremation, Penny is arranging that Chris’ ashes are to be scattered at sea.
