Chair of HDC’s Holocaust Memorial Day Service, 2014
On Monday 27th January 2014, the Chair of Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC), Cllr Barbara Boddington, invited guests from local community and military associations within the Huntingdonshire district, including the Royal Naval Association, to a Holocaust Memorial Day service at Pathfinder House, Huntingdon.

The Hon. Secretary, shipmate Karl Webb, attended on behalf of Huntingdon & District Branch. St Neots & District were also present with their Chairman (and National Council Member), shipmate Keith Ridley, and his wife, shipmate Maureen Ridley.
The Service began with a welcome by the vicar of St Mary’s, Huntingdon, Rev. Andrew Milton. This was followed by the first hymn ‘Praise My Soul the King of Heaven‘ before the guest speaker, Val Ross (Regional Manager, the Anne Frank Trust), gave an excellent presentation on Anne Frank, her diaries, and her death in the Second World War — just a short time before the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau on the 27th January 1945.

The annual Holocaust Memorial Service reminds everyone of the horrors that took place in the Second World War, we must and we will remember them all.
