Chesham & Amersham RNA: WWI Commemorations

On Sunday 3rd July 2016, shipmates Tim Pridham, Brian Brown and Stan Seal from Chesham and Amersham Royal Naval Association attended a commemoration event to remember the 100th anniversaries of the Battle of the Somme (1 July – 18 November 1916) and the Battle of Jutland (31 May – 1 June 1916), the day was also used to mark the end of the annual Armed Forces Day celebrations.

Laying wreaths at the War Memorial were shipmates Brian Brown and Tim Pridham (accompanied by his daughter Annabelle), Chilton District Councillor, Mimi Harker, Bob Parrin from the Chesham Branch of the Royal British Legion, and Stan Seal from Chesham & Amersham Royal Air Force Association (Stan is also an Associate member of Chesham & Amersham RNA). The Branch Standard was also paraded during the commemorations.

Shipmates from Chesham & Amersham were also busy on the 16th July; they were the hosts for No 6 Area’s quarterley meeting, a first (but by no means last) visit by No 6 Area Committee and Delegates. BZ shipmates.
