Funeral Service: John Baldwin
On Thursday 3rd May 2018, shipmates from Huntingdon & District Branch attended the funeral of John Baldwin, a former Royal Naval veteran who had died with no family to attend the service. A call had been put out by the Reverend Simon Whittaker, Padre of Cambridge RNA, for former service personnel to give John (who was 90 years old when he Crossed the Bar) a send off that he deserved.

One veteran who was attending the service was shipmate Karin Bailey, a member of the Facebook Group Pusser’s Very Own (PVO), this group had also received the call and Karin was more than happy to travel down for the funeral and meet up with PVO and Huntingdon Branch members, S/Ms Karl Webb and Pete Aston.

Standard Bearers from the RNA, RBL, and RAFA were in attendance and lined the route in and out of the crematorium as well as being paraded during John’s service.

Cambridge News were also in attendance, and interviewed Huntingdon Branch shipmate, Victor Lucas as well as members of the RBL Riders.
