Godmanchester Gala, Saturday 4th July 2015

On Saturday the 4th of July, shipmates from Huntingdon  & District Branch attended the annual Godmanchester Gala. Shipmates Pete Aston, Graham Murray and Nino Crean pitched and decorated the branch gazebo ready for a day promoting the RNA. The weather was fantastic and certainly brought the crowds in.

This year we brought out our secret weapon for its second outing, the “Battleships board”, which Nino “Battleship” Crean made his mission to get every visitor to have a go at it and to try and sink one of Her Majesties Finest. This proved popular with the kids, parents and grandparents; however the principle had to be explained to the majority of kids — maybe we should turn it into a phone app!

We were lucky enough to be visited by our social secretary, shipmate Becky Murray, Shipmates Geoff and Marion Twigden’s daughter Gemma…

The branch would like to pass on our thanks to the residents and visitors of Godmanchester, the Godmanchester Community Association and the Godmanchester Town Council for putting on such a fantastic event.
