HMS BELFAST: Dry Run of Black Tot Day
On 30th July approximately 100 RNA shipmates were invited to take part in a “Dry Run of Black Tot Day” on board HMS BELFAST to commemorate the Death of the Tot on 31st July 1970.
National Council Members had been tasked to invite 4 shipmates from each Area of the Association. The event was jointly sponsored by RNRMC and PUSSERS RUM. The event was a rehearsal for next year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Death of the Tot.

An enjoyable 3 course meal was served to those that attended. Representing the Royal Navy was Rear Admiral James McLeod, Defence Services Secretary, Commodore David Elford OBE ADC Eastern England Naval Regional Commander. Also present was the CEO/President of PUSSERS RUM Gary Rogalski.
S/M Paul Godfrey from Peterborough Branch brought along his original Tot Card in the hope he could draw extra tots! Everyone went home in a happy state carrying their complimentary enamel mugs.
