Marshall of Cambridge donate a laptop to Huntingdon RNA
On Wednesday 5th March 2014, shipmate Pete Aston informed the members of Huntingdon & District Branch that a laptop had been donated to them by Marshall of Cambridge Aerospace Ltd.
Ensuring that their IT systems are current, Marshall ADG’s IT department replace old systems on a regular basis. Rather than destroy the old equipment, laptops and desktop PCs are offered to local charities to use by personnel supporting their cause. Shipmate Pete Aston works at Marshall (he is also the Huntingdon Branch treasurer) so when he saw that there were laptops available, he put in a request for one (Huntingdon Branch is a registered charity, No 1069417), resulting in the branch being awarded a laptop, spare battery and a charger.

In no time at all, shipmate Pete Aston had the laptop configured for email, web links, RNA downloads and useful RN-related information. He took the laptop to show it to the branch members at the monthly meeting and to explain what it could be used for.
All members were very pleased with the donation and asked Pete to pass on thanks to the staff at Marshall of Cambridge, especially to Tristyn Cooke and Isobel Aylott who were the main contacts from IT and Systems Support.
