Ramsey Freedom of the Town, Civic Service and Merchant Navy Day

On the 2nd September 2018, shipmates Karl Webb and Graham Murray attended three events in Ramsey. The first was the granting of the Freedom of the Town to Ramsey’s Army Cadets, a first for the town as no other organisation has been granted this honour in Ramsey.

The second event was the annual Civic Service at St Thomas a Beckett Church.

Finally, a wreath laying service was conducted at the War Memorial to celebrate Merchant Navy Day. Tony Stokes, former Merchant Navy, said a few words about Merchant Navy Day and read the names of Ramsey personnel who had died in the service during the World Wars.
