It is with great sadness for Huntingdon & District Branch to announce that shipmate Grove Dove ‘Crossed the Bar’ on Monday 30 June 2014.
Grove served onboard HMS Queen for the very last of the Arctic Convoys during the Second World War. In July 2013, Grove was awarded his Arctic Star medal during the annual Sea Sunday Service.
Grove had a great time in the Royal Navy, details of his service can be seen (in his own words) in the article recollections of his Naval life.
In respect of his wishes, Grove’s funeral service was attended by family only. All members of Huntingdon Branch have fond memories of our shipmate and have raised a glass in his memory. Rest in peace shipmate.
