Shipmate Victor Lucas becomes High Sheriff of Cambridge

Following an announcement from the Privy Council Office in 2013, nominations as prospective High Sheriffs in the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court included shipmate Victor Lucas DL, a member of Huntingdon & District Branch RNA. The names were submitted to Her Majesty The Queen for approval (Her Majesty traditionally uses a bodkin to select those nominated for the position as High Sheriff). Shipmate Victor Lucas was formally approved and will serve as High Sheriff of Cambridge 2015/2016.
Victor left the RN in 1995, he represents Warboys and Upwood on the county council and is also a Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire.
Sadly, the number of public engagements that Victor will attend in his official capacity (over 500) means stepping back from RNA events for the year. A leave of absence was granted by the Branch President, shipmate Graham Holt, and with the best wishes from his shipmates for his year in office, Victor departed for an adventure of a lifetime. BZ shipmate, a well deserved achievement.
