St George’s Day Church Service, 2016
On Friday 22nd April 2016, shipmates from Huntingdon & District Branch attended a St George’s Day service at St Mary’s Church, hosted by the Huntingdon Branch of the Royal Society of St George.

Representing the Branch was the Chairman (and Standard Bearer), S/M Bill Small, and Branch Committee members S/Ms Graham Murray (Vice Chairman), Karl Webb (Hon. Secretary), and Becky Murray (Social Secretary).

Standards from the RNA, RBL, and RAFA were paraded as the Deputy Mayor of Huntingdon arrived with members of the Royal Society of Saint George.

Also supporting the service, and to re-affirm their vows, were members of the local youth community, members from RAF Wyton and RAF Alconbury, and guests from the local community.

With the church full, the service began with a reading from Colonel Derek Bristow.

On completion of the National Anthem, Standard Bearers took their place outside of the church as the VIPs and guests departed.

Cadets from Huntingdon’s Sea Cadet Corps, T.S. Cromwell, also lined the walkway from St Mary’s Church.

The evening was not over for members of the Royal Society of Saint George (RSSG), whilst the local associations made their way home, the members of RSSG headed to Commemoration Hall for their annual dinner.
