To all Branch and Area Welfare Officers

FREE TRIPS TO NORMANDY FOR D-DAY VETERANS

Do you know of a D-Day veteran in your branch, family or maybe a neighbour? This notice is for them! It has recently been in the newspapers so please make them aware in this, the 71st year since D-Day, that they can return to D-Day sites cost free.

What’s on offer? 5 day trips with support from a medic and an RBL guide to Gold, Juno and Sword beaches and Pegasus Bridge and war cemeteries from London via Calais with travel and accommodation provided FREE.

When? Trips will be on 7th and 21st September and 5th October 2015.

How is it booked? Register your interest as a veteran or on behalf of a veteran and get more information from 020 3207 2321.

Who’s operating it? Remembrance Travel on behalf of the RBL.

What does it cost? To D-Day veterans NOTHING!

What if I need help to travel? Cash will also be available for carers to help those who are too frail to travel alone. It will cover both transport and accommodation.

Who’s paying? Previously the Lottery but now the bankers through their Libor fines with government allocating those to this and other causes.

How many and for how long will this run? Currently reported as ‘no cap’ on the number of veterans and to operate indefinitely.

DON’T MISS OUT! Call Remembrance above now or ask your Branch Secretary or Welfare Advisor for help to contact them and help book your D-Day Veterans trip.
